| Vanaja is chastised for stepping in front of the altar - worse yet, in direct line between it and Rama Devi. To the right of Vanaja's left foot is an open Bhagavad Gita, placed on a reading stool. The book is Hinduism's holy book and is written in ancient Sanskrit verse. In front of Rama Devi is a Tamboora - an instument that is plucked, and whose sole purpose is to provide a drone of reference notes. The one that is used here is native to South India, and is often made of Jackfruit tree wood. In earlier days, the white rimmed ornamentation would sometimes be made of ivory. | ||
